Why did Cali Lewis leave Mevio?

Goodbye Mevio, hello Revision3. As I reported in an earlier post, Cali Lewis has left Mevio and signed a new deal with Revision3. Revision3 is the home of great podcast shows like Diggnation, Tekzilla, Hak5, and much more.

Why did she leave Mevio you ask?  I would love to tell you that she beat up a co-worker and tore down the set, but I would be lying. She’s a shiny, happy host, she would never do that! It sounds like it was bad business people. Mevio had some issues that they failed to resolve with Cali and I guess they could not come to an agreement so she parted ways. We have all had one of those moments.

So in a move to better herself, Cali Lewis shot a final episode of GeekBrief.TV thanking her fans and mentioning how GeekBrief came to be. Cali did mention a word or two about Mevio in her final episode of GeekBrief.TV and I have quoted that mention below.

This is what Cali had to say about Mevio in (GBTV #780: The Final Episode)

As you could imagine, partnerships have their ups and down and ours (Mevio) is no exception. Over the past several months we’ve been trying to resolve some lingering business issues but sometimes things aren’t as simple as you hope they might be. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we’ll ever be able to resolve our differences.

Then Cali let out a loud ‘sigh’ and said

so this will be the final episode of GeekBrief. TV.

Thank You

Thank You

I would just like to thank all of my readers who support my blog or just stop by for a story or two. I have had some huge numbers in traffic within the last two days. This makes me feel good to know somebody cares and that someone actually reads what I write.

I started this blog to bring the public relevant technology news and technology rumors. My passion is technology and I love sharing my knowledge, resources and thoughts with you. My hope is to one day land a job with CNET or Revision3 as an Editor (wishful thinking).

So thank you for the visits and I hope to see you around more often. I will continue to bring you the news and latest gadgets. You can also follow me on Twitter for more news.

Breaking News: Cali Lewis joins Revision3 with GeekBeat.TV

[Update] Cali has a new application for the iPhone and iPad. Click here

Cali Lewis has just announced some exciting news live at Revision3’s 5 year Anniversary party in San Francisco, CA. Cali has left Mevio to join the family at Revision3. Cali has also announced her new podcast show, GeekBeat.TV which will air Monday June 28th.

If you don’t know who Cali Lewis is, she is the cute and bubbly host of GeekBrief.TV. Cali has hosted GeekBrief.TV for the past 4 years out of Dallas, Texas with Mevio. Cali has asked that we all subscribe to her new show here to show our support. If you love technology then you have to check out her show. It is similar to CNET’s Loaded.

Cali will still shoot her podcast show from Dallas and not in San Francisco. GeekBeat.TV will be just like GeekBrief.TV and bring you technology news and more. Cali said she will keep the new show “consistent”. Cali says she could not come to a good business deal with Mevio. It sounds as if they did her wrong.

I personally think she is a great fit at Revision3 and made a wise choice. I will have her podcast set as a Season Pass on my TiVo. I wish her luck and much success. I’m single Cali. I’m just saying.

About Revision3

Revision3 is the leading television network for the internet generation. We create and produce all-original episodic community driven programs watched by a super-committed and passionate fan base. Our hyper-connected audience gets the vast majority of its entertainment, information and social connections through the internet.

The company was founded in 2005 by technology visionaries Kevin Rose, Jay Adelson, Dan Huard, Ron Gorodetzky, and David Prager, because they couldn’t find anything they wanted to watch on traditional television, and is now led by Internet TV pioneer Jim Louderback.

We develop, nurture and discover the shows that sit at the center of these new dynamic and rabid communities. Our hosts are experts not actors, with tremendous influence over their audiences. Our professionally produced HD shows run from under a minute to over an hour, and are watched anywhere, anytime, on any device and through any service – from handheld iPhones to notebooks and PCs, all the way up to home theaters and HDTVs. Our shows are viewed through our own website, along with more than 40 distribution partners including TiVo, iTunes and YouTube..

Revision3 has attracted a wide-range of top advertisers including Sony, Netflix, Dolby, Microsoft, IBM, HP, Southern Comfort, Virgin America, Verizon and FX Networks. Advertisers enjoy a unique bond with the audience via customized message integration and host mentions that deliver phenomenal results. Our clutter-free environment is perfect for everything from direct response to branding.
