Browser Wars: What is your favorite Browser?

What is your favorite Browser? Do you prefer an open source Browser? What do you look for in a Browser; is it the speed, add-ons, layout or is it themes? Let us know.

My choice:

When I first learned to use a computer way back in the days, IE came pre-installed and it was all I knew. Years later I started to look for alternatives since I was never too happy with the look and feel of IE. I found Opera and I was impressed by its speed versus IE. Opera had a lot of bugs at the time. Many moons later I started using Firefox. I have always been happy with Firefox. With every update I am even happier.

Recently I used Chrome and Safari for a while and I liked their performance. I love the clean look of Safari and Chrome. I also used a current version of Opera and was pleased with the changes since the early days.

I am an aspiring Web designer so I use all of the browsers and keep up with updates and add-ons. I have noticed that I mainly use two Browsers on a regular basis. I use Safari for my technology accounts. My favorite Browser and the best for me is Firefox. Firefox has always been my go to Browser and is my default.

Firefox is customizable and there are a lot of add-ons to choose from. I currently have ‘House’ as my persona theme. The speed is there and I have never had any issues except for an occasional crash but that has happened maybe twice in many years. After using Firefox for so many years versus IE I  noticed a huge difference and so will you. IE seemed to freeze, crash and still does to this day. If you have never tried Firefox, download it and give it a try. The more add-ons the better. Open source is the way to go.

What is your favorite Browser? Leave comments of your choice and give us some pros and cons of all the Browsers and why you chose your Browser.

Firefox 3.6.4: Mozilla’s ‘Lorentz,’ ‘Lanikai’ are soon to release

Mozilla updated its beta test builds of Firefox 3.6.4 and Thunderbird 3.1, code-named Lorentz and Lanikai. They should both be released during May.

Firefox 3.6.4 will incorporate the Out-Of-Process-Plug-in feature, which prevents plug-in crashes from Adobe Systems’ Flash, Apple’s QuickTime, and Microsoft’s Silverlight from bringing down the entire browser.
